Located in the north-eastern part of the island beneath the highest island elevation Dobropoljana is a settlement of about 400 residents. First mentioned in the year 1270 it was intensely populated in the 17th century by refugees from the Zadar hinterland. Dobropoljana is a typical island village where harmony has been achieved between the old architecture and new buildings. The locals are mainly engaged in the production of fruits, vegetables, olives, fishing and tourism, and accommodation is available in private rooms and apartments. The harbour is protected from the southerly and westerly winds and provides good shelter for smaller yachts, and just next to the resort there is a sandy beach with a coffee bar, two shops and two restaurants. Part of the beach has concrete slabs and sand, and the second longer part is an unspoiled rocky beach. If you're a fan of gastronomy you can enjoy the delicacies of this region in the restaurant "Zrinski." The settlement is a place that offers a lot of opportunities for a pleasant and exciting vacation where everyone will find something for themselves. Numerous events, festivals, recreational facilities, beautiful beaches and fine restaurants are only a small part of the offer.
